I recently had the opportunity to review Carnival City with the family and I must say it was an adventure for my kids as we drove through roads we don’t normally drive on in Johannesburg. 😉

46 minutes away from Sandton and 32 minutes away from O.R. Tambo airport is the festival fairground of non-stop fun, Carnival City.

Carnival City is situated in Brakpan, on the East Rand of Johannesburg – right opposite a major mall which is extremely convenient if you forgot an item or two for your holiday. 😉

Under Carnival City’s big top tent visitors encounter all the exuberance of a travelling circus and fairground – jesters, rollercoasters and bright, bold colours all compete for sensory attention.

The central attraction is undoubtedly the world-class licenced Casino with its exciting variety of casino slots and 57 table games, comprising American Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat and Poker.

And not just for the punters in the casino, but for the entire family. Carnival City is a convivial place where your inner jester will feel right at home and the whole family, from the youngest to the oldest, can have fun, fun and yet more fun.

From the regular live DJ shows, concerts, and other family-orientated events, coupled with a great selection of restaurants and other entertainment venues, all meld together serve up a feast of fun for everyone. Seven days a week.

It was my second time visiting here however my first time staying at the hotel and I must say, I was impressed overall with my stay.

The Room:

I was not sure what to expect as Carnival City is one of the older casinos but with the current revamps at the hotel, I must admit, the room was a treat. It has modern finishes and is extremely spacious.

Absolutely loved the bathroom.

You would pay around R 1 855 for a standard king room for 2 adults and 2 kids.

The Food:

There is a host of family-friendly restaurants.

•            Ocean Basket

•            Calistos

•            RocoMamas

•            Panarottis

•            Spur

•            Milky Lane

•            Candylicious

•            Food Court – Fast Food Outlets

We ended up eating at FEGO café which is also kid-friendly. Our meals were delicious. They do have some great specials happening at the moment.

Kids entertainment:

Let Carnival City help you entertain the kids this school holiday.

For parents who need to get out of the house for a couple of hours – grab the kids, round up friends or family members, and head to Pocket Park at Carnival City for some holiday fun.
